Feb. 2012

Okay so I just stumbled into this again another year later. Good heavens. I have bookmarked it this time so maybe if I see it daily I will actually remember to post.
I am now the Young Women's secretary in our ward and am loving this new calling. I even went to Girls Camp last summer and am planning to go again the end of June. I never realized how fun something like that could be. I've been camping many times but never with a dozen girls ages 12-18 but I really enjoyed it. I should clarify a dozen we were in charge of but over 150 for the entire camp. I've been an assistant in Cub Scouts for a few years which was never a problem being a mom of 4 boys but I never realized how much fun girls can be.
Okay so I will try to keep this up a little better. I have to learn to use it better maybe and then I'll be more willing to actually use it.
For now I have to get ready to start online teaching!

Update? lol

Wow! And I thought this one I could keep up with. Well maybe I will try again now that it's a new year! Actually I had forgot all about this and while reading through one of my cross stitch newsletters I clicked on someone else's blog and it was one of these and I thought hey I know I set one up wonder if I remember how to get there? Thank goodness for saved passwords! So here I will try again.

In 2 years my boys have gotten older. Ron Jr is now 18, Rob is 16, Tommy is almost 14 and Jonny is 12. Ron Jr has his GED and works part time for a distribution company, which he really enjoys. Robert is a Sophmore in High School and has a girlfriend and is having a great school year, keeping up with his grades also. Tommy and Jonny are both enrolled in the K12 online school program and doing pretty well with it. There's a lot more for me to do than when they attend public school but I am enjoying having the extra time with them (most of the time) and Jonny isn't overly stressed so that makes it so much better for me than it was the whole time he was in Elementary. I had to drag him to class almost everyday and it made for a bad start to the day, one of the reasons I ended up being a full time volunteer so I was in the school all day if he needed anything. I still help in first grade but it's only a couple hours a day. I love being there and feel appreciated there.

I think if I can figure this blogging out I will start posting about my favorite hobbies which are counted cross stitch and reading.

I am hoping the year 2011 will be a wonderful one for everyone!

July 6, 2008

Well I'm going to attempt this and keep it up as much as possible. I tried a blog some time ago, can't remember how long it's been but just didn't have the time or the patience to keep it going. Maybe it took too long to load? I really can't remember but so far everything I'd done here has been simple and quick. Two of my favorite things.

I am married, 21 years now, have 4 boys ages 9, soon to be 10 in August, 11, 13, and 15. I live in a small town in Utah and I work as a volunteer assistant in 1st grade. My husband works for a company in St. Louis that repairs and rebuilds the diaphragms for the power plants around the country so a good percentage of the time he's on the road so it doesn't matter where we live. We are originally from Utah but after we married we lived here for a couple years then moved to Chicopee Mass for the company he was working for then, back to Utah for a little while, down to Southern California ( Lake Elsinore, Highland, San Bernardino, and San Jacinto, for about 12 years, and then returned to Utah some time back. This is much better environment to raise our boys in and we have been mostly happy to be back here. At this moment I love the fact that at night the air cools down and we can sleep with windows open. I also love the view from my front porch and my neighbors are the best! I love to sit on my porch in the mornings with my coffee and watch the birds feed in the front yard. I love to hear the many "country" noises, roosters, horses, dogs, crickets alot of crickets this year, tractors going to work, lol. I just love where I am in life at this time.

I love helping in 1st grade, no matter how my day may start once I get to class and we get started, even on the worst of days, I feel so much better being in the classroom and interacting with the kids. Kids at this age are awesome! I like kids anyway but 1st graders bloom while you watch. I love watching them come into our classroom a little unsure of themselves, for the most part, you always have a few that aren't afraid of anything, and by the end of the year have such a huge amount of confidence in many areas.

I do counted cross stitch as a relaxing hobby and such one of a kind gifts for the many special people in my life. I love to read and prefer mysteries or fantasy/scifi. I get to read many books in 1st grade and love almost all of those.

Well I really need to get a shower. It's Sunday for one thing and no school for the summer so I get way behind somedays! Have a great day no matter what you do!
